American Idol can do wonders for an amateur singers career. One thing that the show cannot do, however, is make one of the contestants a father. That feat was achieved on Friday morning for former American Idol runner up, Clay Aiken.
The mother of Aiken's baby, Jaymes Foster, a record producer and friend of Aiken's. The two met while Aiken was on the American Idol show. The two announced the birth of their child on Friday.
Aiken wrote on his Web site's blog on Friday that there were, "No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name," when referring to Parker Foster Aiken.
The baby was born on Friday morning at 8:08 A.M. and weighed six pounds, two ounces. The Web site also claimed that the baby was nineteen inches long.
Aiken played on Broadway this past spring in "Monty Python's Spamalot." He has had a strong career in his post Idol days. He finished runner up back on the second season of Idol. Ruben Studdard, who was recently married, won the competition that year.
