Supermodel Ruslana Korshunova was described by her boyfriend as lonely in the weeks leading up to her apparent suicide over the weekend. Ruslana jumped to her death on Saturday by leaping from her Manhattan apartment.
The family of Korshunova is still trying to cope with the shock that she took her own life. "She was a positive person. She was not capable of such things," said her brother Rusian.
The family is not convinced that her death was a suicide. The Medical Examiner ruled it as such. "Everyone knows she was a good person. It's not suicide. Of course, she will be buried in her homeland," said a cousin, Nastya Chkopoya to the Daily News.
Korshunova will now be transported to her homeland of Kazakhstan where she will be buried. Her mother Valentina Kutenkova was in New York to identify the body on Monday.
Before her death this year, Kortunkova had written several times of the dark times she was going through. At one point she wrote, "Will I ever find myself," on a Russian social networking site.
