Tatum O'Neal was a child phenom. She won an Academy Award at age ten, and has starred in several movies since then. On Sunday, she hit a low point in her life.

O'Neal was arrested on Sunday night on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance. O' Neal told police that she was just doing research for an upcoming film.

During the investigation, O'Neal was said to have told the investigating detectives, "You know who I am, right? I'm doing this for a part as a junkie. Can't we just forget this?" The detectives did not buy the story, however.

O'Neal has three children with John McEnroe, and is the daughter of actor Ryan O'Neal. She has spent time in rehab before, back in 1996.

Not only did police find the crack cocaine, but they also found a screen and a pipe on her. They arrested both O'Neal and her source for the purchase.
