Belmont Stakes In The Way Of Triple Crown
Big Brown is quickly establishing himself as a racehorse that comes along only once in a lifetime. On Saturday, the horse won the second leg of the triple crown by easily winning the Preakness Stakes.
Big Brown started slowly much like he had two weeks ago in the Kentucky Derby. Much like in the Derby, Big Brown took control down the stretch.
Now, the horse that was heavily favored in the Preakness, will go to the Belmont Stakes in New York with a chance to be the first horse in over three decades to win the triple crown.
Never was there a moment down the stretch when the horse was not in control of the race. It was the second consecutive triple crown race that Big Brown ran away from the rest of the field.
Macho Again finished second, far behind Big Brown. Icabad Crane finished third.
