Castro was eliminated on Wednesday night after two performances that did not impress the judges on Tuesday. The elimination leaves only Syesha Mercado, David cook, and David Archuleta, to battle it out to be the next American Idol.

David Archuleta again performed above average, and helped secure his spot in the semi-finals. David Cook was slow to start, but his second song was a big hit with the judges.
The surprise of the night, according to many fans, was Syesha Mercado. She did an energetic version of 'Proud Mary', for her first song, and turned up her emotions after getting high praise for her second song.
