American Idol is coming to an end, and with each passing week, the pressure builds on the contestants that are left. That pressure may have finally gotten to Jason Castro.

Castro was eliminated on Wednesday night after two performances that did not impress the judges on Tuesday. The elimination leaves only Syesha Mercado, David cook, and David Archuleta, to battle it out to be the next American Idol.

Castro struggled through much of his first performance, and was ridiculed heavily by Simon Cowell. With a chance to redeem
himself, Castro stumbled again in his second song, even forgetting some of the lyrics. Cowell responded to the second song by telling Castro he should go home and pack his bags.

David Archuleta again performed above average, and helped secure his spot in the semi-finals. David Cook was slow to start, but his second song was a big hit with the judges.

The surprise of the night, according to many fans, was Syesha Mercado. She did an energetic version of 'Proud Mary', for her first song, and turned up her emotions after getting high praise for her second song.
