Clemens Denies Accusations Of Affair
Roger Clemens has been trying to put the pieces back in place to a life that has been shattered this off season. Rumors of steroid use, and his name being mentioned in the Mitchell Report, have cast a shadow over the superstar pitcher.
Now, just as the dust settles from his Congress battle with former trainer Bryan McNamee, allegations have surfaced over an alleged affair between Clemens and Mindy McCready.
The New York Daily News has reported that the couple met when Clemens was 28, married and with two children. McCready was only fifteen at the time. The paper reported that sources claimed the affair went on for ten years behind Clemens' wife's back.
Clemens layer, Rusty Hardin, told the newspaper, "He flatly denies having any kind of an inappropriate relationship with her. He's considered her a close family friend. He has never had a sexual relationship with her."
Ex-President Bill Clinton also denied having a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky, before the truth was revealed. Clemens, in recent months, vehemently denied that he took performance enhancing drugs, another topic the public has been quick to judge Clemens on.
"He's a liar. This is just another example of how Roger Clemens thinks he can do whatever he wants, and just because he was a great pitcher, everyone will believe his lies," said John Brisco, a former Clemens supporter.
