Clive Davis has been a staple in the music industry for a long time. He has overseen the rise to fame by superstars such as Whitney Houston and Santana. He also has been instrumental in bringing along the likes of Alicia Keys and Leona Lewis.

This week, Sony BMG has announced that Davis will no longer be the CEO and Chairman of the company. He will, however, stay with the company with a new job title.

Barry Weiss will take over for Davis as the new CEO and Chairman. Weiss, although only forty nine years old, has played a major role in
helping Jive Records grow. He has worked with artists such as Chris Brown, Usher, and Justin Timberlake. He also helped Brittany Spears.

The new role for Weiss will be filled with many challenges. He will be overseeing, LaFace, Arista, RCA Records, Fo Yo Soul, Verity, J Records, Jive, and Volcano.

Davis will move into his new job of Chief Creative Officer for Sony BMG Worldwide. At seventy four, there is not much Davis has not accomplished in his career. He is one of the most well known and respected music executives of all time, according to several people inside the industry.
