Bruce Springsteen has always been politically involved. He has written plenty of politically motivated songs, with politically motivated lyrics. Now he has thrown his hat into the political ring once again.

Springsteen, through his website, has announced that he will support Senator Barack Obama in his quest to become President. Up until now, it had not been known who Springsteen would support.

"Senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest. He has the depth, the reflectiveness, and the resilience to be our next President," said Springsteen in an endorsement posted on his website.

The endorsement from one of rock's legends
could not have come at a better time for Obama. He has been attacked as of late by his opponent, Senator Clinton, for not being in touch with working class people.

Springsteen sees things differently that Clinton, and expressed his feelings, saying on his website, "Like most of you, I've been following the campaign and I have now seen and heard enough to know where I stand. senator Obama, in my view, is head and shoulders above the rest. He speaks to the America I've envisioned in my music for the past thirty five years".

The last statement might be the most persuasive for Springsteen fans who have listened to his music for years because of the powerful messages they intend to send.
