Carmelo Anthony slamming.
Carmelo Anthony is in the midst of one of his best seasons since turning pro. His team, the Denver Nuggets, are in the middle of a tight race for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

What happened early Monday morning was not helpful to the Nuggets cause. Anthony was arrested in Denver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was pulled over by police after they claim he was weaving on Interstate 25.

Anthony did not practice on Monday. He was released from
police headquarters after being booked. He will be required to be in court on May 14th to answer to the charges.

"Carmelo apologizes to his fans, the Denver community, his teammates and the Nugget organization for the distraction he is causing them," said Anthony's attorney, Dan Recht.

Denver can clinch a playoff spot with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. They also will be in the playoffs should the Golden State Warriors lose one of their final two games against the Phoenix Suns or the Seattle Supersonics.
