Artie Lange Turns Resignation In To Howard Stern Show
Howard Stern has not been without controversy in his career. The latest battle came on Thursday, when his sidekick on his show, Artie Lange, resigned from the show.
Although this is not the first time Lange has threatened to leave the show, Stern did appear to be in shock over the resignation. Not many things can shock Stern, but this certainly left a sour taste in his mouth.
"That was awful," said Stern, after Lange left the studio. The incident started when Lange and his personal assistant got into an argument in the hallway.
When they were back on the air, Stern took the opportunity to show his displeasure for the argument. "I'm flabbergasted...That was crazy what I just saw. I don't understand it. I don't approve of it and I don't know what I'm going to do about it," Stern said on the air.
The remarks came after Lange went after his assistant. The dispute was apparently over money, but Stern wanted Lange to say that he would not do it again. Lange could not, saying, "I can't guarantee that won't happen again."
It was then that Stern told Lange he could no longer be there if he couldn't guarantee an incident not occuring. Lange then offered his resignation, and Stern accepted. Lange stormed off the studio.
It will not be known for a while whether Lange will really be gone for good. The show is on vacation for the next week.
