Kobe Bryant has been the most dominant player in the NBA for a while now. Every year he does something to further his position as one of the best players of all time.

With everything that Bryant has done, none of his accomplishments have translated into the league's top individual award, the MVP. This year may be different, however. With Bryant's Lakers as one of the top teams in the league, the long streak of not winning the award might come to an end.

Bryant has had several factors working against him in the years he has not won the award. He either had to battle with his own teammate in Shaquille O'Neal,
or had to watch players such as Steve Nash, or Dirk Nowitzki have career years.

This year is different. Bryant has not only been the best player in the league, but his quality play has also elevated the play of his teammates. That is something he has been criticized in the past for not being able to do in the past.

One fan said, "He has become a leader. He is no longer the selfish player that he was when he was younger. He helps his younger teammates grow, and helps the older ones raise their game."

This year, the long string of tough losses in the MVP voting race could come to an end for one of the best players of today's generation.
