Copyright PR Photos Ashlee Simpson must get some credit for her latest announcement. It is not that she is pregnant, or that she is checking into rehab. It is that she is getting married.

The twenty one year old singer is taking a page out of her older sister's book. She has announced that she is engaged to her boyfriend, Pete Wentz, from the group Fall Out Boy.

"We know there has been a lot of speculation about Pete and I, and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged," said Simpson, in a statement.

Simpson is at a crossroads with her music career. She has released two albums. The first was a success, but the second did not live up to expectations. That makes her third album, which is due out this year, an important one for her career.

Whether she succeeds in music or not, she has apparently found Mr. Right. Although, this is a romance made in Hollywood, which means it has the potential to go south at any moment. Simpson's sister, Jessica, had a budding romance with Nick Lachey, but that marriage did not stand the test of time.

Ashlee is hoping she has better luck then Jessica. Wentz is twenty nine years old, and has been with Simpson since 2006.
